HotLink SuperVISOR Centralizes VM Management
Version 2 has deeper integration with VMware tools, including vCloud Director and Amazon EC2 support.
Many organizations run two or more hypervisors out of necessity, and that's opened up a third-party segment for management tools dealing with multi-hypervisor environments. HotLink is one of those third-party providers, and it just released an upgrade to its HotLink SuperVISOR for VMware vCenter.
New in version 2 is what the company deems "deeper VMware vCenter integration," specifically saying that support extends to tools, such as vCloud Director and PowerCLI, to manage the gamut of supported hypervisors (including Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer and Red Hat Enterprise Linux). The PowerCLI support is handy for those who prefer control via a command-line interface. This version also supports the latest version of Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012.
SuperVISOR 2 also offers native support of public clouds via its HotLink Hybrid Express, which can now be tapped to deploy and management Amazon EC2 resources.
A free version is available for managing fewer than 15 VMs (which in itself is a new capability with this upgraded version). HotLink SuperVISOR for vCenter pricing starts at $26,700 for the standard version.
