Free Training: Microsoft Virtualization for VMware Users

Microsoft training module available for free for a limited time; provides look into/comparison of Microsoft virtualization solutions for those already familiar with VMware's solutions.

Microsoft has made available for free a training module for learning about Microsoft's virtualization solutions, which includes a look specifically at Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and System Center 2012. Based on the objectives of the courseware, the aim is to provide a comparative look at Microsoft's solutions against what VMware offers with vSphere 5.1 and its virtualization ecosystem.

The course, through the Microsoft Virtual Academy, covers storage and resource management; security, multitenancy and scalability; high availability; application and cross-platform management; and an overview of System Center 2012, comparing it to various products in the VMware suite. Also covered are the creation of hybrid clouds as well as cost comparisons of Microsoft and VMware solutions.

The module is available for a limited time; registration is required to view modules. To start, click here.
