Catbird vSecurity Adds vShield Firewall Component

Catbird said that its vSecurity security management can now take advantage of the firewall features of VMware vShield App natively.

Catbird said that its vSecurity security management can now take advantage of the firewall features of VMware vShield App natively. The new feature comes as part of an OEM agreement with VMware made in mid-2011 that gave Catbird vSecurity users the capability to monitor systems managed by VMware vShield App.

According to a Catbird press release, the new firewall control can provide automatic and dynamic segmentation of the virtual switching fabric. It can also "enforce logical segmentation and automated quarantining of assets based on compliance level."

Catbird also has a version of vSecurity that supports vSphere clients, as well as Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0.
