Cloud-to-Cloud Backups from Asigra

Asigra has updated its cloud-based backup and recovery to allow cloud-to-cloud backups, as well as support for backups of mobile devices.

According to a company press release, Cloud Backup 12 support the consolidation of backups of enterprise data and schema originating from software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service scenarios into a centralized repository. Users can then recover data and schema or data alone. Backups are secured via AES 256 key encryption.

Also new is mobile device support, including backup and recovery of any data to any location or device. Support extends to Android and iPad tablets, as well as non-rooted Android smartphones. This is in addition to support for Windows, Linux and Mac endpoints. Cloud Backup 12 can create snapshots of data and, in particular, Big Data via a snapshot management interface.

Finally, Cloud Backup 12 adds VM disaster recovery, with backups of those VMs to off-site data centers.
