VKernel Adds Operations Monitoring Capabilities to vOperations Suite

VKernel has added monitoring capabilities to its vOperations suite, which includes monitoring of SANs, guest OSes residing in a VM, and non-virtualized, physical servers.

The suite comes in two flavors: vOperations Server and vOperations Storage.

The server version is split into three editions, a free version called Explorer, which provides basic monitoring of any critical issues in performance, capacity or VM efficiencies of VMs, hosts and datastores. The Standard Edition provides remediation  of those issues,  as well as provides "virtual server analysis, capacity management, optimization and chargeback," according to press release. The Enterprise Edition adds application monitoring, as well as monitoring of guest OSes and physical servers. Standard is $549 per socket; Enterprise is $799.

vOperations Storage comes in a basic Monitor edition that can peer deep into a SAN; vOptimizer then remedies any storage issues. Monitor is $499 per socket' vOptimizer is $299 per socket.
