Zenoss Simplifies Management for Hybrid Environments

New ZenPacks extend management and monitoring of hybrid infrastructures to include Windows Azure and Windows Server.

Zenoss has announced new and updated ZenPacks for managing Microsoft Windows Azure and Windows Server. The ZenPacks work with the Zenoss Service Dynamics platform to let Zenoss customers extend the management of their hybrid infrastructure to include Windows Azure and Windows Server.

Zenoss Service Dynamics is a family of products that promise end-to-end service level management in environments that span the physical, virtual, and cloud. These tools handle impact and event management, analytics and opimization, and resource management.

The ZenPack for Windows Azure promises insight into the health of all critical services running on the Azure platform, including service-asset relationships to speed root-cause analysis. Other key features include a consolidated view of all available KPIs, as well as automated discovery, monitoring, and event management of Azure subscription entities such as hosted services, virtual machine instances, storage services, virtual networks, and web sites.

The updated Windows Server ZenPack simplifies Windows Server monitoring by consolidating and enhancing the capabilities of multiple ZenPacks. Through a single view, Zenoss customers can manage the performance and availability of SQL Server, Exchange, IIS, Active Directory, and Microsoft Cluster Services. This updated ZenPack also automates discovery of Windows Server attributes such as file systems, interfaces, processes, and services; generates in-depth KPIs for detailed reports on the end-to-end environment; and monitors multi-instance SQL server deployments and Windows Cluster Services.
