Microsoft To Add SaaS Customer Service Piece to Dynamics

Redmond buys Parature, maker of a cloud-based customer service component, which will be integrated into the Microsoft Dynamics CRM portfolio.

Microsoft announced the acquisition of Parature, the maker of a cloud-based customer service application that is in heavy use by companies like Ask.com and Kohler to maintain customer service relationships via e-mail, self-service apps and social media.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to the release, Parature's customer service technology will be integrated into Microsoft's Dynamics CRM portfolio. "Parature is a perfect fit for every business and will enable us to offer customers one of the best cloud-based solutions for customer self-service," said Bob Stutz, corporate vice president, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, in the release.

Details on technology integration is expected to be solidified by the time of Parature's Parafest 2014 conference in Las Vegas next month, and Microsoft's Convergence 2014 conference in Atlanta in March.
