Building Hybrid Clouds with Red Hat OpenStack Platform 4.0
Point release pulls together a bevy of Red Hat technologies to aid in creation of public or private clouds.
Here's some news in the "in case you missed it pile"*: Red Hat last month announced that it made its OpenStack Platform 4.0 generally available. The release pulls together Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor along with OpenStack Havana code that was beta tested in November so that IT teams can build open private, public, or hybrid clouds.
The 4.0 release supports OpenStack Orchestration for quickly provisioning needed services, and can deliver software-defined networking services between virtual NICs or other interfaces that are tied into OpenStack.
Customers already working with Red Hat CloudForms will find that it's easy to manage any workloads on OpenStack Platform 4.0-built clouds. Version 4 also already comes with integration points for Red Hat Storage Server that are readily scalable.
