Protecting virtual environments from viruses and malware can result in a significant performance hit because of the need to run antivirus on every guest OS. ThreatTrack's VIPRE Antivirus Business 6.5 and VIPRE Business Premium 6.5 change all that by introducing the ability to deploy antivirus directly in Windows Server with Hyper-V. Deploying it directly in the hypervisor takes advantage of the workload management capabilities to eliminate I/O bottlenecks and RAM performance degradation, and it eliminates the need to manually stagger scans.
In addition to the performance advantages, the latest version lets IT departments view and manage their antivirus policies company-wide from a central location. This centralized control makes it easier for IT to identify risks, increase protection around specific assets, and comply with government regulations.
VIPRE combines small-footprint antivirus protection with integrated patch management and Mobile Device Management (MDM), letting users to take charge of their endpoint security. Enterprises get malware defense for PCs and Macs, low CPU and memory usage, e-mail security and anti-phishing protection, firewall protection, and the ability to block malicious websites.
