HotLink DR Express Expands Disaster Recovery Into the Cloud
HotLink's CIMple software-defined networking technology allows on-premises VMware data centers to be backed up to AWS clouds.
HotLink has released a version of its HotLink DR Express disaster recovery software that can back up and recover on-premises VMware data centers to an Amazon Web Services cloud upon data center failure. They key is the addition of HotLink's CIMple software-defined networking technology.
The CIMple addition makes it possible for IT pros to centralize backup control to VMware vCenter natively, and allows them to continually configure and test backup plans without having to bring down any systems. The company claims to be the only company that currently can do this without having to go through any extended hoops to perform the backup and recover.
Other features of the release include enhanced retention policies, such as restore points that can be configured and consolidated using a variety of options, reduced storage requirements on the AWS side; and an improved VM backup scheduling that can be used to schedule backups during planned VM outages, as well as backups that take security breaches into account.
HotLink DR Express is available now through a subscription at $300 per virtual machine being backed up.
