CloudLink Secure VM Boosts BitLocker Flexibility

AFORE integrates CloudLink SecureVM with Microsoft's encryption solution.

Cloud security company AFORE has announced the integration of its CloudLink SecureVM with Microsoft BitLocker encryption. BitLocker, although popular in enterprise deployments,  relies on hardware Trusted Platform Modules (TPM) or USB drives to store encryption keys. CloudLink SecureVM eliminates the need to store keys in hardware, letting organizations use native OS encryption in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and virtualized server deployments.

CloudLink SecureVM also supports Linux native encryption, giving organizations a single way to manage encryption for multiple clouds and VM operating systems.

SecureVM uses a centralized approach to secure both boot and data volumes. Using this solution, IT departments can manage OS boot security policy rather than relying on individual users. Enterprises gain full control of the encryption keys for both Windows and Linux VMs deployed throughout their hybrid cloud, and can validate the integrity of virtual machines before letting them boot.

Key benefits of the integrated CloudLink solution include VM encryption for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, VMware vCloud Hybrid Service; VM encryption for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V private clouds; protection of data from other cloud tenants and cloud service provider admins; and flexibility in how and where organizations store encryption keys.
