Over the past few years, we have seen an unprecedented adoption of remote work. With this in mind, now is a great time to reflect on what we have learned during this time about rapid, large-scale deployments of VDI environments and the best practices around it.
We will first go over the explosive growth of VDI then level-set the session by quickly describing the components that make up a VDI environment. We will then dig into best practices to ensure that VDI users have the best experience possible when accomplishing their day-to-day tasks and tending to their responsibilities. This session will touch on the entire VDI stack from choosing the best infrastructure to host VDI on, tunning virtual desktops, selecting endpoint devices and last 50 feet of connectivity.

Tom has a wealth of hands-on IT experience gained over the past 25 years in a variety of technologies, with the past 15 years focusing on virtualization and storage. He previously worked at VMware in Staff and Senior level positions. He has also worked as a Senior Validation Engineer with The Taneja Group, where he headed the Validation Service Lab and was instrumental in starting up its vSphere Virtual Volumes practice.
