VMware Crossroads: Strategies and Options for Government IT Leaders
Date: Thursday, October 10th at 8am PT / 11am ET
In the wake of Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, many government organizations find themselves re-evaluating strategies for upgrading legacy infrastructure to support operations and be ready for the demands of AI workloads. To reduce risk, some organizations are considering adopting a dual-vendor strategy. Others are considering moving more workloads to the cloud or planning to move to alternative vendors.
Join Lee Caswell, SVP, Product and Solution Marketing at Nutanix, and Steve McDowell, Chief Analyst at NAND Research, as they discuss the changes facing Government IT leaders, and review strategies and options on how best to move forward.
These industry experts will review the painful impacts of the acquisition on VMware customers (e.g pricing and packaging changes, shifting support levels and product changes due to planned divestments). Lee and Steve are joined by two Nutanix Federal Senior Cloud Transformation Architects who will provide insights and lessons learned from the real-life experiences of their government customers. These insights will help you chart a path forward that best meets your agency's strategic priorities as you navigate this ever-evolving landscape.
Attendees will walk away with:
- An understanding of the potential implications of the Broadcom-VMware acquisition on an organization's IT roadmap.
- Considerations of alternative strategies (e.g., adopting a dual-vendor strategy, migrating to the public cloud or transitioning to a new platform to support on-prem or hybrid cloud deployments) - taking migration, performance, security, and data sovereignty into account.
- Lessons learned and insights from government IT leaders' choices and experiences - and how they reduced risk and ensured the stability and flexibility of IT infrastructure to support modern and future workloads.
- How the Nutanix Cloud Platform solution provides a single, software-defined platform that supports all workloads across edge to on-prem to the cloud.
- How Nutanix migration tools and services make it easy to move to a new strategy that best meets your strategic objectives.
