Security, Mobility Top Initiatives for Virtualization Adoption

Security and mobility are the top concerns for companies who are considering pushing virtualization initiatives. That's according to a survey commissioned by Virtual Computer, a company that makes the NxTop line of VDI products.

The survey found that, among the more than 200 respondents, better than 73 percent ranked security highly in importance for any virtualization initiatives being carried out in 2012. As well, more than 62 percent ranked mobility as highly important or of highest importance.

Mobility seemed to be key in the survey, as more than 72 percent said they're using or plan to use tablets in their organization by year's end, with 4 percent replacing PCs with tablets.
