News Roundup 06-20-19: Microsoft & Oracle Partner, WANdisco Launches Migration Tool, More

Here's a quick snapshot of what's been happening in the cloud space so far this month.

Microsoft and Oracle Corp. entered into a cloud interoperability partnership, which the companies say will enable "customers to migrate and run mission-critical enterprise workloads across Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud."

San Ramon, Calif.-based WANdisco Inc. announced the availability of LiveMigrator, a "petabyte-scale live-data migration to the cloud" solution. According to the company, LiveMigrator is "the world's first non-blocking technology that seamlessly migrates petabytes of unstructured data from on-premises data centers to any cloud vendor in one pass."

Global cybersecurity integrator Optiv Security launched its Cloud Threat Monitoring and Compliance as-a-Service, the newest offering in the company's recently announced Cyber-as-a-Service (CaaS) Platform. The new service "is designed to help clients realize complete solutions and business alignment so they can spend more time focusing on strategic business objectives and less time dealing with never-ending fire drills," according to Anthony Diaz, Optiv's division vice president of emerging services.

MongoDB added new cloud services to move beyond the database. In addition to Data Lake, Full Text Search and Auto Scaling on MongoDB Atlas, the company also announced "the general availability of MongoDB Charts, as well as its plans for the recently acquired development platform Realm. MongoDB also announced new features in version 4.2 of its core database."

DevOps automation platform for cloud infrastructure and machine learning provider Agile Stacks Inc. now offers multi-cloud support with the addition of Google Cloud Platform (GPC), Red Hat OpenShift and Microsoft Azure to its exisiting support of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Edgewise Networks launched a new self-service platform that "simplifies the creation and management of zero trust environments with one-click microsegmentation." Edgewise says Zero Trust Auto-Segmentation "protects digital assets no matter where they are located: on-premises, in the cloud or in containers."
