Net Optics Monitors Hyper-V
Traffic monitoring plug-in developed using Hyper-V Extensible Virtual Switch.
Net Optics said it has developed a Hyper-V plug-in, Phantom Virtualization Tap, for monitoring hypervisor traffic on Hyper-V. The company announced the solution at Microsoft's TechEd conference in Orlando, Florida, which is taking place this week.
Phantom Virtualization Tap is a plug-in developed using the Hyper-V Extensible Virtual Switch, an open API for creating extensions for customizing the Hyper-V management environment beyond what's currently available. Phantom Virtualization Tap monitors network traffic whether it originates from physical or virtual servers. The plug-in allows for monitoring of Hyper-V-based traffic and provides for native management of security and compliance policies.
Phantom Virtualization Tap is available in a pre-release now; the company has not released information regarding general availability.
