Citrix Co-Founder Ed Iacobucci, 59
More recently helming VirtualWorks, Iacobucci was a key figure at IBM as well as Citrix.
According to a press release from VirtualWorks, Ed Iacobucci passed away Friday of pancreatic cancer. At the time, he was chairman and CEO of a company that was formed a little more than two years ago to rein in enterprise data sprawl.
Prior to founding VirtualWorks, Iacobucci was a key figure at IBM, helping to develop its PC business with his pioneering work and innovations on IBM DOS and OS/2 and multitasking software.
Iacobucci left IBM and in 1989, emerged with a new company, Citrix Systems, which he led as chairman and CTO. He retired from Citrix in 2000. He had co-founded VirtualWorks in 2009, and the company made its debut June 2011.
