mValent Updates Integrity Product for Virtual Environments
mValent Inc. recently expanded its mValent Integrity product with the addition
of the Virtual Automation Module.
mValent Integrity is an application configuration management tool that works
on both physical and virtual environments. The product lets users monitor current
configuration and code settings and schedule changes to those settings, as well
as help companies maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
The addition of the Virtual Automation Module adds more virtualization-specific
capabilities to the existing Integrity product, allowing users to manage virtual
images, repurpose virtualized software and, according to a company press release,
"customize and instantiate virtual environments with appropriate versions
of code and configurations."
mValent CEO Joe Forgione said in the press release that the "sprawl"
of virtualization has resulted in some new challenges that are typically absent
in physical environments.
Virtualization, Forgione said, "has shifted the focus of management complexity
from the server to the software and applications running inside the virtual
machine, driving up exponentially the unique configuration and release management
challenges faced by application and middleware support teams."
He added that the Virtual Automation Module "provide[s] a comprehensive
solution for automating deep configuration management and audit of application
environments running on virtual and physical servers."
