vCloud Eraser Obliterates Data with Certainty
Complete, auditable erasure for VMware vCloud Director users.

At the Cloud Security Alliance Congress taking place this week in Orlando, Florida, Blancco announced the release of a tool to help organizations that are struggling to get their compliance initiatives to keep pace with their quickly evolving virtual environments. vCloud Eraser provides complete erasure and auditable reporting for virtualized data center environments that use VMware vCloud Director.
Just as with physical servers, forensic tools can discover data from deleted virtual servers, putting companies at risk of violating privacy and destruction regulations. However, via the vCloud Director user interface, companies can now use vCloud Eraser to automatically destroy all data when a virtual server is deleted. vCloud Eraser then provides a detailed report that can be used to verify the erasure has taken place and for completing a data audit trail.
Blancco makes other data erasure tools for other environments. Just less than two months ago, the company released what it bills as the first SSD erasure tool that includes automated freeze lock removal.
