Riverbed Updates SD-WAN, Announces SaaS Accelerator
Riverbed, known for its Digital Performance Platform, has updated its software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN) offerings, while also announcing SaaS Accelerator, targeting Software-as-a-Service apps such as O365, Salesforce, ServiceNow and Box.
The cloud-based SaaS Accelerator is said to allow enterprises to turn up the service in minutes in order to boost app performance by up to 10 times, while letting Riverbed SD-WAN customers use that solution's one-click provisioning to further simplify the process.
Speaking of the company's SD-WAN solutions -- SteelConnect and SteelHead SD -- the company also announced a new release that reportedly boosts agility, security and operation efficiency via multi-cloud network automation advances, improved service-chaining for on-premises and cloud-based security services.
The new SD-WAN release also provides one-click integration with the Zscaler security platform over thousands of branch locations.
“As organizations worldwide address the imperative of digital transformation, they recognize the criticality of measuring experience and infrastructure modernization," the company quoted Brad Casemore, IDC Research VP, Datacenter Networking, as saying. "Perhaps nowhere is that modernization more necessary than in network infrastructure, which provides the essential conduit for application delivery and enhanced digital experiences. IDC research finds that enterprises worldwide are increasingly concerned with how well their network infrastructure supports the performance and security of SaaS and IaaS applications in a multi-cloud context, and Riverbed’s latest product introductions -- including SaaS Accelerator, and enhancements to its SD-WAN and Digital Experience Management offerings -- are squarely aimed at addressing those challenges.”
