VMware Inc. has released a management pack for its vCenter Operations Manager that extends its abilities to the vCloud Hybrid Service.
The vCloud Hybrid Service, released last September, enables vSphere workloads to exist simultaneously in the cloud and on-premises. The vCenter Operations Management Pack enables operational visibility of the Hybrid Service in both realms, "providing a consistent user experience across clouds," according to today's announcement from VMware.
The Management Pack, a free download that works with the last two versions of vCenter Operations Manager, provides 40 metrics related to VM performance. They cover the broad areas of CPU, memory, disk and network usage support. VCloud Hybrid Service-specific metrics include Region, Virtual Data Center, vApp, VM and Cloud Type. The Management Pack also includes several different dashboards for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes. An embedded adapter collects the data.
The Management Pack is now available for download.
