Citrix Receiver now supports Microsoft's Windows Surface RT and Windows 8 Professional editions and is available via Windows Store. The lightweight client provides device-based access to Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop services.

The latest update to Citrix Receiver provides access directly or via Access Gateway Enterprise and sports a number of features, including allowing the opening of ICA files from a browser, password saving if server policy permits it, automatic configuration via e-mail address or a server URL.

A Citrix blog post quickly notes that updates will be forthcoming, including "multi-touch, audio, session sharing (support for multiple sessions), follow me sessions (workspace control), and international language support."
